Y22 Summer Girl

Retired

a sailboat at a dock

This is Summer Girl in Cleveland, Ohio, docked in a row of six Yankees, circa 1960.

About Y22 Summer Girl

Summer Girl was originally part of the Nantucket racing fleet. When the yacht club fleets disbanded and the Yankees were sold to private owners, Summer Girl was brought from the East coast to Lake Erie for the Cleveland fleet. When the boat was retired, its cabin and parts were used to rebuild Y21 Sirocco, in Port Townsend. Y21 (with parts of Y22 is now in France.)
