Y19 Dawn

Active

a sailboat sailing

Y19 Dawn was built in 1946 by the Quincy Adams Quincy Adams Boatyard. After racing on the East coast it was sold to the fleet captain of the Cleveland fleet, who raced it successfully for years. Then Dawn was sold, and its new owner did not adaquately maintain the boat. Its previous owner kept an eye on it, and watched it fall into disrepair. Decades later, he repurchased Y19, and lovingly restored it, and shared it with his children and grandchildren. A happy ending for anyone who’s ever regretted selling a favorite boat.
