In the spring of 2001, Venture was hauled out for repairs, and received a new mahogany transom.   > removing the transom, February 11, 2001       Venture's Haul Out Photos February 9 - July 17, 2001. The end is in sight, and it looks like we'll be in the water by early June. One more thing... A few days before our June splashdown date, Seaton was caulking seams and came across such a large gap that he decided to pull a plank to replace it with a wider one. This revealed a previously inaccessible area under the maststep, with floors that had turned to mush. We added another month to our schedule, and replaced all six. Home at last July 17. She goes back in the water and heads home.
